Jimmy, is your clutch pedal lower than your brake pedal?

Check the linkage up under the dash to make sure it's not just worn out.

Switch is Mopar 5300 7944

One more ?. If the linkage under the dash is ok what else would cause the clutch pedal to be lower than the brake pedal?

Obviuosly you haven't gotten her attention yet; I find a doubled up fan-belt works wonders.

Six manual-transmission trucks sitting out here and not a clutch-switch on nary a one of them.

You can dis-able/bypass the switch and route the two wires through a toggle-switch, such that the switch must be ON before the starter will engage.

If you develop the habit of ALWAYS flipping this switch OFF as soon as the engine starts, then if someone that has no business in a truck happens to bump the key, it will do nothing.

Also, you can wire one of those annoying BUZZERs on the cold side of this switch to remind you to turn it off.

Of course, this toggle-switch will not prevent someone cranking when the truck is in gear, but it should serve to remind them of proper starting procedure, which is :

Transmission in NEUTRAL

Clutch ENGAGED = pedal not pushed

Then START.

I dislike cranking an engine while holding the clutch-pedal down (dis-engaged); it is detrimental to the throw-out bearing and clutch-fingers, hence all of the dis-abled clutch-switches.

And the main crank thrust bearing. I like your idea of the switch!
