Clutch Master Pushrod Length

Curious if anyone knows the push rod length for the clutch master on a 1st gen. Tried searching but couldn't seem to find it. I had made an adjustable one but I think it was too long and caused it to bend. Thanks in Advance.

Continued to search and came across this, can anyone confirm. A 1st gen M/C push rod measures 4.875" from end of M/C to center of the eyelet. A 2nd gen and newer is 1.375" longer than a 1st gen M/C.

THe end of the push od on the master cylinder end of the rod? I got confused on that sorry but i need to know this i can pull the clutch pedal back and measure 5 1/2 inches at least with it still in the M/C some .I think the guy who put my transmission in put the Fork on backwards. I visited him and he was under the dash I asked what was up and he said he broke the push rod and had to weld it back. Which made no sense..After i got the truck i got under the dash and it looks like he extended the push rod so he wouldn't have to take the transmission out again? When i saw him messing with the master cylinder I told him if he was having mysterious clutch issues he may have put the fork backwards. He claimed that was not possible. Anyway the truck shifts good but the clutch barely releases at the floor. Rebuilt Transmission, New Clutch and flywheel. I am getting some funny noises but not too bad. I'm still trying to figure out what this mess is and how to approach it. I ordered a snake cam today to go up in there and see if the fork is installed right.

it.

I am not at the shop now but I am in the process of mounting the clutch master from an 89 in a ford. I don't worry about length because I always make my rods adjustable. However what I can tell you from memory is you need 1 7/8 in travel. Adjust so the peddle bottoms on the floor just before it bottoms in the master.

Going from memory here, but if you detach the rod from the clutch pedal and give the master a turn you can pull it out from the firewall. From there if you look where the rod goes into the master itself you should see some tangs holding the rod into the master, take a small screwdriver or pick and you can bend them enough so you can get the rod itself out. Then you can measure the length of the rod. As dguru has stated you can easily make an adjustable clutch rod using a threaded rod coupler, cut your rod in two and thread both ends of the rod. Thread them into the rod coupler and now you've got an adjustable clutch rod. Did you replace you master/slave setup when you installed the new clutch?

I pulled this one from a 91.5 W250 to use in a 3rd gen hydro unit, but went with a new Valair adjustable master cylinder set up.
