Closed RWAL Valve Switch

Howdy,

My "Brake" and "Anti-Lock" lights are stuck on at all times... I grounded out the black wire to get the error codes and got 4 flashes. Based on information posted here in the past, that means that the RWAL valve switch is closed...

But what is the RWAL valve switch, where is it and how do I open it?

rwal is rear wheel anti lock its in the frame at the L rear of the truck ...follow the steel line off the axle and it will lead to it ... Have you tried to unplug the modual behind the glove box yet (about 30 sec. is all ) to reset it?

I know what RWAL is, but what is the RWAL "switch"? The code said the switch is bad; where us this "switch"?

Isn't the thing on the frame the "valve"?

So in other words, if the switch is indeed broken I need an entire brand new valve?

I think that's the same code I get on mine but I'm waiting on warmer weather to crawl underneath. I'm hoping it's a loose or shorted connector or wiring though. It's no telling on my truck. I found the entire left back brake had been gutted!

So check out all the wiring and reset the module by unplugging for 30 seconds and see if it works again.

I don't accept that the valve isn't servicable. I am adept enough that sometimes I can fix these things that Chrysler just replaces because it's cheaper for them and more profitable to sell the whole assembly than a repair kit. It's like them saying they will only sell you a new engine rather than selling you a water pump.

Edwin if you find a way to fix that problem would you post it here. mine has been that way for 4 years. rwal valve was 150$ 4 years ago which i would have bought but if it didnt fix i was stuck with it. dealer techs were a bunch of parts changers. not iknocking all techs. been there done that myself for 10 years. there are some really good ones out there. electronics aint my forte.

On the 95 I wrecked out, it looked like an extra prop valve with a couple solenoids on it.... Below the MC area.
