Did you mark it on disassembly? That will be your clue as to the correction it provided.

Edit: that kind thing is often used as a 'fix' for a bent housing, or one that wasn't built perfect.

i didnt take it all apart so that everything went back to where it was. it is next going to alignment shop. also tomorrow i am going to try and see if i can determine if housing is bent. that is where i am at presently

Do point out to the alignment shop you have this adjuster type, since it's not factory.

oh for sure i will. so whey do you think these kits are used. are they stock on the chev, or Ford diff do you know?

Nobody used them. They are aftermarket. See post #2 for reason.
