Cleaning the HVAC box, with a TWIST
I was crusing past West Marine today (before I saw Carmutts post) and stopped in.
My hole saw was just a hair too small, but with my dremmel, it was no sweat.
Good thing I didn't need to do this....
I like the clear cap, as I'm easily alerted to more crap entering my heater well. You wouldn't believe how much stuff was in there. I'm actually getting better fuel mileage because of all the excess weight I removed..... and my heater door actually closes now !
Can't say thanks enough for such a great idea. When I see stinkbugs crawling around in there, I can just laugh as they perish..... and stink up my truck !

Just a side note: Had mid '70 Chevrolet trucks....if stuff went down the de-froster vents from the dash, the stuff would sometimes fall out the heater vents onto the floor. Could this happen in our 1st gen trucks?
Had a live round 30-06, and a bunch of 22 shorts show up on the floor of the Chev.......

They're not originally truck floor mats... They're comfort floor mats from Homedeepblow, in their flooring section. I used 3 or 4 of them to fit my floor, as I'm not a fan of carpet in any way shape or form.
They work great, really thick (noise reduction) and when you need to you can individually remove each side to clean underneath or let the water out.....

Not sure how I missed this the first time round...but thank you to those who brought it back up top.
