changing axle ujoints
What size axle (3500/4500) do I have?
What are the part numbers for the u-joints I need?
What is the part number the needle bearing that is behind the inner wheel bearing?
I'm changing the front axle u-joints and don't have this information. There is a sticky on this for a 93 one ton, not sure if we have the same axle or not. I saw the part numbers too, but someone would need to verify that they are same again.
Thanks

You have whats called a 1350 u-joint and it will be the same as the parts off of a 93 dodge. Use the same parts list for the 93. Any parts store should be able to look up any of the parts you need for your year of truck.
Get new seals for hubs and the spindle where the needle bearings are. Get greaseable u-joints and clean all the old grease from bearings and hubs. Replace the grease with Lucas grease it is water resistant. Water causes rust and rust is what kills everything that uses grease in your truck. You don't need special u-joints, ball joints, tie rods just need to use Lucas grease that will keep the water out and stop rust.

Actually the axle joints should be a 1480 u-joint. See below for a ton of info on dana 60 fronts, including u-joint part numbers.

Do I have 3500lb axles or 4500lb axles?
I've tried going to the autoparts store and the mechanics shop, but they both said there were other options.

As stated earlier you will have the 4500lb axle, axle u-joints should be 1480 (part # 3-0332), and the spindle bearing kit is SBK-3, includes spindle brg, thrust washer, and spindle brg seal. These are part numbers used at NAPA/Carquest.
