CB antenna

What do you guys recomend for a simple set up? I think I had a 3' or 4' firestik before and had good results. I have a simple Cobra 29LTD peaked and tuned. Are there better options than the firestik and where are you guys mounting the antennas on the first gens?

mag mount antenna's are the simplest, a direct mount dead center in the middle of the cab will achieve the best gain/groundplain

I have had a mag mount for years, it rubbed all the paint off under it.
I am switching to a 102" whip, cant decide where to mount it.

The Wilson magnetic mount antennas are the best for performance. I've got a Little Wil on my wifey's Z71 that works great. For ultimate performance (and ultimte 'neck look) put an 8' stainless steel whip. The 8' SS is exactly the right length for the wave on a CB.

With that criteria you're limited to the Firestix. I've got a 48" tall one on my driver's side bed rail and it works fair but no where near as good as the 8' stainless.
