i was wondering has anyone done a cab swap with new fender's what problem's did you run across and did you have to fill out any paperwork for the state , i'm thinking about doing a rebuild on my 93
In Maine you need paperwork on the donor cab as well as the frame. After you are done you are supposed to call the state police and they issue a new number. That being said I drove a 76 chevy for years with a 81 cab and body. I just kept using the frame set of vin numbers. People looked at me funny when I said it was a 76 with square headlights. I had a buddy that put a new cab on a S10 and he superglued a hair comb over the vin tag so he could just say that his comb was stuck If they decided to check his numbers.
All depends on where you live I did a complete body swap twice on my crewcab and as long as you remove the old tag off the cab and just use the dash vin plate it;s easier that way 81to 93 are all the same body lines and whats nice about Ddoge is everything bolt's back in and look's factory
If you already have the truck reg in your name there is no way for someone to tell if you swapped a cab if you bolt the dash back in Also sand off the door tag .

just swap the dash thats where the vin tab is or even drill the rivits on them and switch it the sticker on the door jam can be swiched buy heating up the steel on the back side of the sticker and just pealing it off and swiching it to the new cab
