Does your truck have power windows and locks? If not that two wire plug is probably a speaker wire. My truck has power windows and a lot more wires there.

Ok, thanks for all your help. id assume since i dont have power windows and locks, i dont have the wiring harness's in the doors. so now i just have to find the vacuum lines. i found 2 small lines that run through the firewall, are there more than this?
thanks.

Those 4 lines behind the glove box (red, black, and 2 shades of green) are the vacuum lines they stay attached to the blower housing you unplug them up behind the heater controls. The two lines your talking about don't actually go through the fire wall, that is part of the blower housing also. When you swap out the blower housing all of the vacuum lines will go with it.

So I guess at $ 300.00 for a used body, my idea for an aftermarket fully galvanized, user friendly cab is not a very cost effective idea.

Where are you located??? Also when you get ready to pull the cab if you haven't i'd pull your wheels and set the axles on the ground (place a piece of wood under the 4 hubs so it doesn't damage anything) that way its closer to the ground to pull the cab and you don't have to lift it so high well as high anyways....

Hey guy's! I dont mean to steel a thread or anything, but if yall dont mine me askn? I found a '85 crew cab dually 2wd that I am thinkn of buying and swapping my cummins into. My ? is with a little roof rust, not much, and that bieng the only rust, would it be worth $1000. I haven't seen alot of dually crew cabs with a straight body around my parts. Time and effort are not a worry to me, just the $ aspect.

I'D Say so, We bought ours for 400 bucks no rust but it wasn't a dually and it had no front clip or motor or trans. so if its complete then i'd say so you could always resell the parts that you pull out.

Long as the cab rust is surface only and not the bad cancer from within!
