Can you see anything in the sight glass on the top of the receiver / drier? You may have to chip the paint off of the little window. You are looking for a little (1/4') glass window.
Also, if the compressor is working, even a little, the line going in should feel cool or cold and the line coming out of the compressor, going to the condenser should be hot.

maby- jog thanks, yes bubbles in sight glass , low press., line cool to pretty cool it also sweats.HI-press., line hot after going thru dryer. I pulled cover off blower/ mtr., ,pulled mtr. fan ( cleaned fan& all the ducts) let trk., a/c run 40-58 min. w/out blower ----it never frose-up not 1-drop of sweat., condser fairly cool, put in clean fan, resealed -----no cold air. Thats why i ask , could it be a internal comp., problem???

The bubbles show that your system is working somewhat.
The lines going into and out of your receiver / drier should be warm, not hot. Is your condenser clean?
You said that you cleaned the blower fan. Is there lots of air coming out of the vents now?
Are you sure that you are looking at the evaporator and not the heater core. The evaporator is in the air box near the floor on the passenger side.

YO,jogl fan blows hard, hp-line warm, & yes i ment evapor.( sorry bout that). Going to get set o gauges ( again) , proble pull vacum ( again), my question is this --when filling w/ gages, do you open the high press-side (red ****) also or just the low- press (blue ****), to get readings??

You leave the valves (red and blue) closed when you are just reading pressures. The valves are for adding and removing refrigerant.
I like to put the high pressure hose on (and off) when the compressor is not running and the low pressure hose on (and off) when the compressor is running to minimize the loss of refrigerant.
