Well I got my New Sanden A/C compressor couple weeks ago, and finally got to cleaning up the used engine bracket.

Here they are waiting for install....







Now one question on the engine bracket, do I need a gasket for the area around the lower coolant connection...on the back of the bracket?

Correction: Yes, you do need a gasket.

 

It's actually more like the 'O' ring that's used in the thermostat housing.
It goes in on the block side, not on the bracket side.

This is the lower mount, so no thermostat. Does it use an O-ring as well?

 

Do you have your old parts off, yet?
If so, look at your block, it should be where the hole for the lower hose bracket meets up to the block.

Sometimes they get hard and blend in, until you dig at them a little.

Yes indeed they do blend in sometimes. I always replace all those kinda seals gaskets ect. Better safe than drippy. lol I think that can be applied to lots of things in life.
