I changed to 1-3/16" on my D350 and it made a huge difference in braking as well as braking effort. Not as good as the brakes on my 03 3500, but a heck of a lot better than they were!

3/4 ton trucks have 12x2.5 shoes and 1" cylinders

1 ton trucks have 12x3 shoes and 1 1/8 cylinders.

Upgrade to the 1 ton stuff if you have a 3/4 ton rear^^^

Hey digging this one up from the archives....I have a Dana 70 to swap into my crew..original gasser Dana 60 in there now.

Anyway I've been searching through the archives looking for an answer to whether I can swap all the new brake drums/shoes/hardware from my existing Dana 60 onto my Dana 70? I realize the brake cylinders are smaller on the Dana 60, but will the rest swap over? Do I need to swap baking plates as well?

Thanks for the help clearing this up.

I believe it'll all swap. Cylinder bore is different, but mounting should be the same.

Lighten up, it's Labor Day weekend.

Thank you for the info j_martin. Didn't mean to sound b!tchy....guess it came off that way...sorry.

I will definetly update, or start a thread on the swap...so there is info for others to find easily if they happen into this same situation.
