Brake Proportioning Valves 2WD to 4WD

Question primarily for those who have done a 2WD to 4WD conversion. Did you change the brake proportioning valve or are they the same between a 2WD and 4WD? I did a search and didn't find much except abs questions. I think they are the same but I need to know before I run the brake lines. My 92 donor truck has the proportioning valve located directly under the master cylinder. My crew cab frame has it in the frame rails in the same location as my 91.

The valves are the same in my 90, but it is mounted in the frame rail. I believe the valve itself is the same, but the mounting hardware may vary..Mark
