Brake pedal slow return

Well after hundreds of dollars spent on new calipers/wheel cylinders/MC/power brake booster/lines I finally have brakes but notice my brake pedal still sinks to the floor, it does pump up fine still feels like I have air in the lines even though I bleed them thoroughly I thought, just if I dont pumped it up it is really slow to return all the way up and sometimes it stays just far enough my brake lights stay on, any ideas? I did check and verify that the switch that operates the brake lights in sitting right where it should.

Mine was the very same brake lights would stay on because the pedal wouldn't push the little button that went on for a year was going to cut the light switch bracket off and modify it but had other brake probs so went through system and no more problems with pedal return

I do not think that the booster is bad, I went through the exact same thing and it was not fixed until I bought a mated booster mc combination. The adjustment of the push rod is very fine and I believe that a factory adjustment is very important. My brakes are great now after throwing a lot of time, money and effort at them. I think it is interesting that these trucks all fail in the same way, at the same mileage, and that there are so many common stories about them. It should be noted that mine gave 200,000 trouble free miles before the brake problem set in...What a badly made truck......Mark

I'm not arguing it's a bad made truck at all just the brakes to me are the worst brakes I've ever had to fix is all.

I've had issues with rebuild MC and brake boosters too. The consistancy is very poor. I went ahead and did a mated MC and booster for the same reason Mark said. The rod length etc is sensitive. Mine were also leaking like a sieve out of the box

I suspect that a mis-adjusted pushrod is your trouble as well.
