Does anyone know how many holes there are in the bosch 185 pw injectors and how many holes in stock intercooled 92 injectors? I had my 185,s installed so many years ago that i forgot. My fuel miliage didn,t really change so the 185,s must be effient running.

stock intercooled 1st gen injectors have 6 holes.

 

The chart says stock injectors are 6x.009 but are these intercooled injectors? It isn,t real clear what the actual size and # of holes there are in the 185,s_ some say 4 holes and some say 5 holes. How is the atomization on these compared to the intercooled stock inj?

 

The 6x.009 injectors in the link are intercooled injectors because down below in the chart it shows the size of the stock non intercooled injectors. the more holes then the cleaner there going to run, less smoke, and less egt. Non intercooled are 4x12. And i really cant imagine BOSCH making a dirty running 4 hole injector. I betcha 185's are 6 hole. and they ARE an upgrade for a intercooled truck (91.5 93). wannadiesel said that they are in this thread-- https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=214697 ..So we dont know the actual size of a 185 injector but we know its a bigger upgrade from the intercooled stockers and will probably bring your fuel mileage up a bit. I just called city diesel inc. in Decatur, Alabama where i purchaced these bosch 185,s back in 2001 and gave them the part # and they looked at one and said they had 5 holes.
