boost control

I just picked up the parts for the electric valet switch and had an idea...I'm going to try using a hobbs switch to activate valet mode whenever my truck gets to around 40 psi. In theory, this should work. Then again, I might have problems due to the boost possibly bouncing up and down by about 8 psi from the suddenish gain and loss of fuel flow...I'll keep you posted.

Neat idea, but I don't think it's much of a 'valet' if the truck can get to 40psi...

edit: traditionally, the valet is there to keep others from 'rodding your ride, should they have the opportunity....

Yeah it wouldn't be very smooth either.

its also going to be set so I can manually use valet mode. making it come on at a preset pressure is more of an attempt at an overboost failsafe since I dont have a wastegate yet. But, to be honest, the experiment is mainly for fun since I just love to tinker.

I'd think that at 40psi the fuel pin would already be all the way down, so your switch probably wouldn't do anything. I plugged off the line to the afc the other day for a quick towing job which wouldnt work so good with the fueling i've got now. I could still hit 45 psi with the fuel pin staying at its shallowest point.

yeah you would have to have a way for pressure on the diaphragm side of the valve to be released or the pin would stay down.

as per the valet switch in the sticky, i have a 3 way valve meaning that when activated, it releases all the pressure in the afc while also blocking the incoming boost thus returning the cone to the thickest point and defueling
