body side mouldings

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I don't know where else to look. Does ANYONE know where I can locate a complete set of mouldings excellent used or NOS for a 1992 club cab?

The best place is a junk yard.

I've tried! In the entire state of North Dakota there are exactly ZERO. And as far as searching the net of yards in other states, well I have gotten the same amount in replies when I e-mail, parts request form, or call backs when I have called. Just frustrating after 4 years of looking, that NO ONE has any or knows of any. Oh well thanks for the reply.

I used aftermarket molding for 87 - 92 Ford trucks. Looks pretty close to original Dodge molding.

AFAIK, you haven't been able to buy molding for years from the dealer, and junk yards are going to want to keep their molding on the panels. Go to your friendly local body shop and see what they have. Jim Lane got some really nice stuff, although his shop seems to do an outstanding job, so maybe they're an exception to the rule... Either way, that's where I'd start.

I've looked into the aftermarket, from just about everyone I can track down, and I have not ruled that out.....just yet. I guess that I'm one of those really wierd people that won't give in until I have what I want. The stuff from trim-gard is most likely what I'm going to end up with. How ever, whom is this Jim Lang of which you mentioned, and what product is his shop using? Any info would be helpful. Thanks again guys for all the replies, and info. Keep it coming.

Here is the body molding everyone is talking about.

By aftermarket I do not mean from places like JC Whitneys, but from the suppliers to body shops.

You need to go to your local Body Shop that does custom work and ask them if you can look in the catalogs of the different styles of Body Moldings.

My body shop had several large big folders full of samples to fit every make of vehicle including trucks and school busses.

After my shop does the paint then they call in the guy that does all of the trim, he has the cutters to make all of the different angles.

I think the last roll I got cost somebody around $100.00

The particular one I have is from the GM catalog.

Some views of the side.

Here is what it looks like at night,

Please do not look at the dirty truck, it was just in an accident.

This is the shop that has been doing all of my body work for the last 20 years.

Here are a few companies just looking on the internet but first I would check with your local body shop to look at the actual sample in the book.

This is OEM quality and not the stuff you would get from Pep Boys or JCW

I will try and remember to get the name of the vendor from my body shop next time I stop by.

Those mouldings look great, and to the untrained eye could pass as OE. Do you have the mfg and p/n for that particular one? In your post you mentioned it was from the GM product line. As your truck is AMAZING, and that is the proof that I needed to go forward, and get busy on mine. So far I have found an N.O.S. grille, stripe kit, and rear bumper and some other odds and ends. The mouldings have been my proverbial needle in the hay stack. Thanks for the photo's and the leads on the mouldings. As before keep the information coming, I really do appreciate it!
