Blown HG :(

OK well ive been having a couple issues lately. When i go 100% wide open (daily driving ECT.) i have tons of blow by and if i free rev it in neutral it will shoot a solid stream of oil out the blow by tube. Couple of local shops said i had weak holes. Well on sat i held 50psi for to long and blew up the coolant over flow bottle. SO im assuming my hg finally went.
What is the best possible way to fix my issue. I have a brand new felpro gasket i could throw in. But my question is whats the best way to fix my issue and stay under $1000.00, oh and be reliable. The plans for the truck are to get twins and 47re someday. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Head studs, and probably O-rings if your gonna have twins, and new gasket. Maybe port if you have the time or money.

How long did you hold it at 50 psi?

i don't know how easy it'll be to stay under $1,000. i invested about $1,700 or so in parts alone and i did all the work.

^ what he said . I'm close to that number and I did all mine also, and traded stuff for the port job I got. Lots of money can be spent when doing the gasket. Or you can get the cummins upper end kit and just slap it and only spend $240ish. Good Luck

The last time I did my head gasket it was 1000 bucks canadian, that included cummins upper gasket kit, 60# springs, new valves, head decked and seats cut. And most of the head bolts.

Tap out the bolt holes in the block...

Do the drop test on the bolts. I pulled mine down to 145 in 5lb increments from 90. Mark all the bolts, check for ones that turn more than the others, they are bad.

We'll see how long this one lasts...

Is this your DD? if it is i would not fire ring(to much work to keep them up on dd) I would o-ring your head and save the money you would have spent on fire rings. I put up a link for PDR diesel, you send them your head, they o-ring it and send it back to you. They dont have a price on the web site. Prices vary depending on what you want done to the head
