Do you not see the plus side to having as much battery power available as possible? With your battery setup I would be constantly second guessing it and wondering if it will not start one day. It makes sense to pack as much battery in there as space/money allow.

I do see the plus side. Just takiing issue with the spec. given my truck's starting performance I am not at all concerned about its ability to start in low temp. Not even a little bit.

Same here, ... I didn't know what my starter sounded like until the first time I had an FSS problem (wire had gone dead). I should've gutted the FSS back then in '06, but didn't know about the shut-off lever at that time.
