Which banjo bolt ??
If it's the one on the AFC just pull the cover and tap it to 1/8"NPTand put in a tube fitting - I used pushloc 1/4" OD nylon.
Then replace the fitting in the block with 1/8" NPT tube fitting - same type as you put in the block - and connect them.
Then all you have to do is remove the tube and not the whole assembly.

Well before I did what unix did, I was in the same boat as you. Yes you can drive the truck if you need to, but you will not have much power and a boost leak, and I wouldn't suggest it for a long time. I went down to ACE and took the other one inside and got a brass washer from them. Hope that helps. Also I found that harbor freight has a big assortment of copper washers that you can buy 10 dollars or so, there are a couple that fit just fine.
Good Luck

The afc banjo washers on my 89 were some kind of thick rubber/paper-like material. Looked orginal and held up good. I second the notion of going to the hardware store to find a replacement.

I have hard plastic tube for my boost tube too. In the tophat i used a 5/16" drill bit (close enough for brass) and then tapped it 1/8-27 npt. i had the tap laying around from my pyro install. then i got the 1/8-27 fittings (45* angled so everything clears) for the hard tube and put one in the head and one in the top hat, with the hard plastic tube of course. easier than hell.

I've had mine in - and out, and in, and out, and in, etc,etc - for nearly 3 yrs now and nary a leak...
Just just got through pulling it again so I could install a 3way electric valve.
That makes another out and back in. - - - Well this time I did replace the nylon tubing because I mounted the valve on the fender.

UNIX, I do belive he is talking about a nylon washer not the tubing. I too have the nylon going to my valvet and is still doing great. Now I've got to go off and do it to the wifes truck. She's "tired of the smoke" LOL. I bet if it smoked pink she would be happy!

You don't need to pull the pump to play with the power screw or bump the timing.....
But you'd better get some gauges - at least a pyro and boost - before you go very much further.
