Baby H1C

Can I swap a IC' compressor housing and wheel onto a NonIC' baby H1C without swapping the backplate? my friend wants to do this so he will have 4 inch flange on the housing so he can build his intake without having to get a reducer 4in-3in to fit onto the turbo

The way to tell is to measure the diameter of the wheel at the backing plate. If that is the same and it is the "band" style housing I would say yes your good to go. I don't know the measurements but if you check out Holset web site they might have the wheel dimensions on there.

I am pretty sure it will work. GDS told me there is only one backing plate with the v-band. The really small ag H1C's had a bolt on comp cover.

I just put a GDS on a baby H1C, I have one in my '93 too.

yes you can, done it.
but if his truck has fuel mods and a small exhaust housing with a 5speed i do not recommend it, on my truck i had really bad surge running a 14cm housing.

baby h1c non i/c'd has a 2 inch strait hose outlet where as a i'c'd truck has a 2.5 inch v band out let that normally connects to a 90* elbow
