Anyone know if first and second gen alternators are the same?

I was wondering if anyone knew if second gen and first gen(92-93) alternators are the same, they appear to look the same, pulley looks slightly different. I've looked up replacement part #'s and some brands are the same, denso lists different numbers for them though... Anyone w/ any experience on this?

They are the same from '91.5-'96, for some reason in '97 they change something. As long as it's an I/C 1st gen it's will work.
