Are you going to remove your front sway bar?

When you modified the WJ pitman arm, you had to modify the taper to fit the GM TRE?

Yes, I had to enlarge the taper.

I noticed the same pitman arm at PartsMike. You might be able to have him enlarge the taper if you don't want to do it yourself.

I also removed the four alignment keys in the splines. In the factory application the arm is clocked a bit. While the pitman arm will bolt up, the steering box will be in the wrong spot in its travel range once everything is aligned. I milled the keys out, but you can also use a triangle file to 'remove' them, or blend them into the surrounding splines. Just go slow and take your time.

Jungle, any links/pics to people who have installed the plates? Looking to see exactly how they look afterwards, particularly once they are welded.

It looks like the steering arm just about touches the spring when it gets to the steering stop?

Depending on the shape of your drag link, that steering arm height should work. Its going to be tight though!

It will be interesting to see how the drag link ends up.

Can you put the drag link in there and take a picture?

So i took some pics, you can see the steering arm is no where near touching the spring. Could adjust the stop some and gain some steering i am sure.

As for the drag link, i had it sitting too high in the first few pics and it would hit when i turned the knuckle right. I held it just above the drivers side spring and it would clear no problem through out the steering range. Just depends where the pitman arm puts the TRE once everything is mounted.

More. The last pic is about where the TRE should be to clear, it could be higher.
