Any body that has rebuilt there Ip with....

broken plunger return springs and a chunk off the rotor foot. My truck still ran with all of this broken inside the ip. I know have aluminum shavings and or shreds of aluminum in my fuel tank. Not just a little bit either. Every 2 square inches in the bottom of the tank has a shred of aluminum.
Im not worried about it making its way back to the ip. I would like to know were it came from because the truck has never run right since the rebuild.

I suspect its from the case. I was wondering if a broken spring could get caught in between the cam plate or rollers and grind away the case so know the rollers don't sit right. Or maybe the damage is somewhere else that could effect the way it runs.

Here's a pic of the broken springs and rotor foot as they called it. A new head and rotor was installed but I don't think the case was repaired and also don't know what was worn.

Thanks

The broken spring likely put stress on the rotor, causing the end of the rotor to break like it did. You will need a new head and rotor at the very least. May as well find another pump.

The aluminum shavings in your tank are likely from the case getting worn by the broken pieces floating around in there.

What parts of the case get worn that could effect the way it runs?. The pump was rebuilt already and has never run right in my mind.
