Is there any twin or single turbocharged v10 Dodge Rams out there?
I have been thinking this thing for ages now, I have searched and searched but I haven't found any.
I think it would be very cool to have a 2 wheel drive, short bed reg cab Ram with the 8 liter v10 coupled with twin turbochargers. I was just wondering that is there any out there? Are those low horsepower big blocks any good for turbocharghing? If it is, maybe a 1500hp daily driver wouldn't be an impossibility.
Just a thought. Thank you.
edit: And I'm talking about the heavy duty ram 8 liter, stock 300hp version, not interested about srt-10 rams, I want to see some 2nd gen rams!

Twin Garrett 42 midframe turbos, Turbonetics Deltagates on Both.
Crower Cam, Intercoolers from Spearco W2A, Carrol Water Injection, MSD 6AL, and Electramotive mgmt modded for the batch fire injection.
The Holley Throttle body was Dual as well.
It was in a extLB 3500 Dually 4x4 3.55/Auto.
Let me find the article for you.

Yup. Here it is .
Turbo and high tech performance did the article. You will have to email the mag to get a reprint. There is no ext link i can find.
Good luck.
IIRC the article was done in 1997

No no no... I don't want another Ram in here. My friend has a 8 liter ram 2wd dually and it seems to be pretty nice engine. Reminds me a stock 240 Volvo somehow ... Drinks fuel like a devil and the engine is quiet on the highway
At least gas is cheap in here. 1.5euros per liter=8.22 usd per gallon.
What do you mean by reprint of the magazine? You mean by buying the reprint of their 97 magazine or do they really send me the pages to my email? I think the fact that I live outside the states will hinder my possibilities to get that reprint via mail.
Can you Got Juice? scan the pages for me?

I put an ATI procharger one- IMO not what you want to do. It has good power, fuel economy did not suffer too much (34l/100km)
But- it blew the auto tranny very quickly, rear axle went too. The powertrain is not made for these speeds.
Would have liked to turbo it, but according to mycalcawe would have needed new rods, pistons and head studs to keep the engine together under nice boost.

Thank you! I'll be waiting, if you don't have scanner, good pictures with your camera is ok too
Holy...
You're always up to something! Nice, even with a supercharger the world of sound must be something unbelievable.
How did the rear end went? I thought at least dana 70 and dana 80 can take alot of power, even about 1500hp/1500lb-ft behind the mighty cummins.
That V10 ownwer should buy a DTT tranny and have some fun.
How much did he had boost or horsepower(~about) ?
I hope fuel costs treats him well,
Erska.

Women are like trucks. When they are working well, they bring a smile to your face.
When they are giving you trouble, sometimes it's best to trade them in

Well, usually, but in my case, I have had an opportunity to change my best half (truck) so much that even if she is going to give me some trouble, or big one, I'm still going to keep her.
It's hard to get a foreign citizen in here and get it use to in here too...
