Anti freeze Help!
Anti freeze Help!
All,
I am going to be back flushing the 93 this week, and will be replacing the antifreeze. The local Wally World carries mainly Prestone 50/50 antifreeze. I know that some argue in favor of low silica anti freeze. Can I use the Prestone 50/50, or should I look for another product with low silica anti freeze? I think Wally's also has Peak? I can't remember what else they had?
I have read somewhere that cavitation isn't really a problem with the B series Cummin's?

until it reads good on a fleetguard test strip.
Use any antifreeze you want. Just set it for the temp range of your local area in winter. Keep it changed at the proper intervials and don't worry about it.
Peak is a better choice compared to Prestone. Get the full strength stuff and mix it 60/40 w/ distilled water. Then use a conditioner and test strips as mentioned above.
