Hot from battery to relay, out of relay into small pin VR plug wire.

Cut Key On wire (small pin) a couple inches away from VR plug. Harness side of this wire to energize relay ... Key On out from relay to small pin VR plug wire or to ground? If ground; won't this create a direct path to ground through relay for key on voltage?

Leave other VR plug wire intact.

Can't really follow the sticky picture since I want to put my relay adjacent to the existing VR.

Thank you,
BlueW250

The key on to energize the relay goes to the relay, then to ground. The battery hot goes to relay, then to VR.

Finished. Successful! A little less than 14.5 at the battery while charging on a cool afternoon. Will try it from a cold start tomorrow. Pictures coming once they are approved.

Thank you,

Thanks for all the help. I learned that Dodge wires are small, old fingers are fat, and it's a long way back to the firewall.

On a colder morning the problem returned. Charging voltage up to 18+. Changed the voltage regulator. All appeared good when I checked this morning when cold.

Now I just need to replace the headlights that popped .. and put relays into the headlight circuits.

It's an adventure.

Thanks for the help,
