Altinater mods worked, new ?

Hi guys, thanks for helping me fix the problem with dad's alt not charging. I did the mod in which you take brain box (PCM?? - behind batt) out of the loop and let the alt decide when to charge. My new question is the check engine light flashes on/off, sometimes it stays off, sometimes on. What could be causing this and/or is it normal?

Other than that, we're both very happy with the way it performs. (I get to test drive it from time to time)

Again thanks,

It's still there, it just don't controll the alt charging function anymore. When plowing, as soon as you let off the joystick, the needle on gauge pops right back up...everytime. The mod was found in the sticky column.

Check the trouble codes, that will tell you why the PCM is unhappy.
