All my questions piled together in one thread
I have a few questions for all of you:
1. If I look at a HX40, how do I tell what exhaust housing size it is? Is it on the housing somewhere?
2. When timing the VE, I want to go 1/8" beyond the stock setting, right?
3. What modifications would be necessary to put just a HX40 compressor and housing on my truck?
4. Where exactly would I need to grind for map width enhancement?
Thanks for the help.

If you put a hx40 compressor you will have to change the housing also and it will have the slots in it. I think you will also have to machine the center housing to clear the wheel also. Check with htt turbo, they have the housing and wheel for about 200 and can machine the center for you.

HTT's Stage IV is a 35/40 (or in my case a WH1C/E) hybrid. It came with the MWE slot and the turbo bolted up like it grew there.
Send a PM to Swank if you want to do it yourself, he played with a turbo like that before he built his twins.

1: it will be in the same place as on your stock H1C on the 5.9's. On the exhaust/turbine housing right where it bolts up to the exhaust manifold. I'm also pretty sure it will be on the exhaust outlet side of the housing. If you're lucky enough to find a hx40 with the desireable 16cm wastegated housing, then grab it up. They'll be 16W, 18, 18W, 19, and maybe a 19W. The 19's won't bolt right up, as they have a bigger 'foot' that bolts to the exhaust manifold. 4" downpipe will be needed as well. So if the C-series you find the 40 on has a downpipe, you can use the 4"flange and weld up a dp.
