ALL message center lights stayed on ???

Well last night I was doing some hot laps testing out my gauges I just installed and trying to get my tach to read correctly and on last time I started the motor back up (I was changing the dip switch setting inside the tach so I had to shut the motor off after the "hot lap" to take teh tach apart) all the message center lights stayed on??? I did let the pyro cool back down to 350F before I shut turned the motor off.

Now I know I have a ABS issue so that explains the Brake and ABS System light. But the "water in fuel" and "wait to start" lights wouldn't go out like they normally do when you start the motor?

When I got back home (lights still on) I tapped on the relays thinking it could be a stuck relay, that didn't help.

Then I got a volt meter out and check for voltage at the KSB and the heater grids and I had 0 voltage - but the lights are still on? So doesn't that mean the grid heaters relays and KSB switch are working????

Then I drained the fuel filter - no go - lights still on....

Then I un-plugged the water in fuel sensor, still no change...

Anyways, I don't need to use the truck so I just stop dealing with at that point so I could think about whats going on.

I didn't check it this morning because it was REALLY cold and I just drove my Daily Driver to work.

Like I said - I know I have a ABS issue which explains two of the lights. But what could cause the other two (water in fuel) and (wait to start) lights to just stay on - especially with the motor warm.

You may have doen somethign to the ground from teh dash panel to teh chasis. I'd be confident that the problem is behind the dash, not under the hood. Check your connectors and check the flat dash circuit board for a short or loose connection.

I also forgot to mention that I also removed the Tach, and that made no change.... lights still on.

See I thought of that, But if I lost the ground or power to the message center, then won't that mean ALL the lights would go out and never come on???

Don't get me wrong - I'm open to any idea? because I'm at a lost right now.

If you totally lost the ground or power, yes they would never come on, but if you crossed , shorted or had a poor ground, that could casue the problem you describe.
You could have caused a short in a connector 'downstream " from teh dash that is feeding power to these lights as well...

Rick, I'd start by tracing the wiring back from teh two lights to a common point, then search from there....

Just check it at lunch today. Truck is ice cold and I could hear the buzz and the click of the relays & grid heaters under the hood but after I heard the second click - The lights still stayed on. - Looks like I'm tearing the dash apart again... ugh....

Those lights are controlled by the PCM, not directly by the circuits that they indicate (does that make sense?).

See if your headlight switch is corroded. When it gets crusty, it makes the dash and signals do goofy things. It's prone to moisture from leaky door/window seals as well as the cowl cracks behind the hinges.

The PCM is tucked between the battery and the fender.
