Air Dog for the 1st Genners
Air Dog for the 1st Genners
Do they make them, what sort of hp can it support, are they a good upgrade, are they even worth it. I am looking for a good upgrade from my stock diaphragm LP. I have also been considering a P-LP but I was told that the pressure would push the front seal right out of my IP. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about the Airdog though.
If you go with the Air Dog, do not run it through the stock fuel filter. Run it straight into the injection pump.
What would I need to install the kit or does it include everything. And what would a kit for my truck cost. Aslo, do I block off the stock LP Port or keep it open?? So many questions.. Thanks for all the help..
There are several regulator options, and you can mount the thing anywhere you care to run the hoses. The important thing is that you use a bypass regulator and that it is plumbed AFTER the fuel filter.

I was in the understanding that piston style fuel pumps didnt need a bypass reg, and they worked better with a dead head...?
I understand the after the fuel filter part, but could somebody clarify the deadhead vs bypass reg thing?
Thanks...

2ND GEN Lps put out WAY too much pressure for the front seal of the VE. Put a regulator after the filter then you have the benefit of high pressure and flow through the filter then bypass what you don't need back to the tank to keep the VE happy.
where can this be purchased? Part number? Cost?
Yes, the Air Dog has a primary filter/separator and a good secondary filter on the unit. The factory 1st gen filter would be a useless restriction.
It really depends on how much you hate electricity.
I like piston pumps for trucks under 350 HP, it's simple, it's reliable, and it's enough fuel.
