additives??

What if any additives do you guys use in your oil, fuel or trannys.. manual or auto?? I used to use BG products when I was a VW mechanic but that was 20 years ago and products change. I use some additives in my fuel for lube and anti bacteria made by FPPF which I use on oil burner services so I just have it and it's made for diesels and seems to work good. I don't add anything to my engine oil and I still use Rottella T.. ( too old school??) But was wondering what products are worth using in oil or fuel if any?? Lucas?? BG?

Well I just finished phase one of rehab on my truck. New Radiator, new coolant lines and hoses, new tranny cooler lines, new intercooler boots, exhaust, sway bar redo, KDP killed.. and on and on.. I was wondering about my tranny (auto) and if it's worth putting an additive in it. It was rebuilt in 2002 or about 80K ago. Then I started wondering about my engine oil and if anything is worth while or is it all just "Hype"? This truck has never had any other oil since new but Rottella and I'm not changing brands but maybe an additive. Over thinking it??

I use Stanadyne diesel fuel treatment with every other tank

hard to say if the truck runs better but it makes me feel like I'm "doing something"

I like to run synthetic motor oil, transmission oil and differential gear oil too

I run a bottle of general motors E.O.S with every oil change, I do run rotella synthetic T-6. And put two stroke in every other fuel up. Diffs have royal purple synthetic. Trans is the general motors Nv4500 crud they way overcharge for, t-case has royal purple too.......I think? Dot 4 brake fluid, because I had a bunch sitting around my work area when I did the 3" shoes last summer.

I use Lucas every time I take on fuel, I buy it by the gallon bottle.

I used Stanadyne in my 6.2 after the RoosaMaster pump seized at full throttle, Stanadyne cured the problem in less than 1 tank full.

I've been adding a Comp Cams break in lube to my oil changes for a few years now, gassers and now my diesel. Not sure if it makes a difference but I feel better having the Zinc and other high pressure and wear components in my oil.

My oil is usually the Walmart 5 gallon pail of Super Tech diesel oil 15W40. And an once of 2 cycle oil for every gallon of diesel, at fill up. Tranny is the Castrol Syntorque...and not so expensive is you order it right from the manufacturer.. Diff has regular Castrol gear oil.

Intresting to hear all the different opinions on this. I'm still up in the air about it but I did just refill the tranny and put a bit of the Lucus in there, I just hope it either works or does nothing.. LOL.. I have Kendall in the rears which I swear by. I was always told that Syn is to slippy for the clutches.. IDK! I have done the two stroke thing in the fuel but maybe I added to much or something but I think it started to coke the fuel around my injectors (I need to replace them anyhow) so I started with the FPPF stuff and it seems to work again IDK.. I do know this new LS fuel is junk for our motors!!

This was also part of the question, why are you using it?

Here in Southern California it will probably never get cold enough to have to worry about the fuel gelling.

I use the Lucas for the added lubrication.

addatives are a scam, research shows most all of them do absolutly nothing except steal your money.
