a518 overdrive slip
Hey guys,
My new 92 4x4 slips in overdrive, It vibrates some when it slips.
I am now at a lo$$ as to what to do? I also noticed it takes a lot for it to shift into o'drive, usually i can throttle up then back off 3rd, then it seams to drop in, not always consistant. The fluid isn't burnt. I dont know the past towing, dont know the service history.
That being said, a few questions come to mind. Could the filter be plugged, are their adjustable bands for o'drive or ?????? Any suggestions
Maybe it's time to bite the big one & do an overhaul.
Oh BTW....when taking off after cold start up she needs some RPMs to
get going. Just at 1st cold start, after that she fine.
Thanks
Bryan

I've had overdrive problems in the past. Not shifting into overdrive and hunting back and forth. Fluid level/look/smell seemed fine. I decided to drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. OD has worked fine since.
Also check your Throttle Lever Adjustment (Kickdown) for your other shift points. There's a link in my sig to the info.
