93 Diesel Electrical Problems

We have a 93 Cummins diesel, D250, automatic, 2 wheel drive. The speedometer, charging system and a/c stopped working. The transmission is also not shifting properly in od. We have replaced the ECM, crank position sensor, battery and alternator and still have the same problems. Can anyone help?

Re:93 Diesel Electrical Problems

Check the big electrical block on the firewall where it plugs in. Also make sure the wires running off the crank sensor are not broke or grounded out. Are you sure the new ECM is good? Is it new, used, or rebuilt? Is it the right # one to replace the old one?

The ECM is a new one from dodge. We will check the wires on the crank sensor and try the original ECM and see what happens.

Seems like I remember there being a gap the crank sensor is supposed to be set at, can't remember what it is right now. Its in the book.

Re:93 Diesel Electrical Problems

The sensor gap is .049" - .051".....

pretty much using .050 is right on... just make sure to set the gap well away from any notch in the harmonic balancer AND use a non-magnetic feeler gauge as noted in manual..

Bob.
