92 w250 OD not working

I've replaced the front fender relay, added the dnr OD **** to regulate it, pulled the crank sensor and re installed it then look at the plug from the wire coming out of it which looked fine to Me, OD still not working. Is there a way to bypass the crank sensor to make it work, what should I do next?

Thanks.

I just went through it.

If it turns out to be your TPS, you can buy a TPS delete kit from DNR for $40.00, or make your own for about $12.00.

I already have it, I set the **** all to one end CCW and drove the truck but it does not shift into OD after 3rd it revs up.
The tps is disconnected and the crank sensor I have no way to check it except to clean the harmonic balancer and set it to .050 ".
What do I do next?

Thanks.

Could you clarify this. Does it stick in 3rd, or seem to skip out of gear?

Rig a test light to the OD connector on the tranny and see if it's getting power when you roll. Light, of course, has to be where you can see it at 40 mph.

I'd check pressure at the od port, and check your power and ground at the trans plug

Have you checked the wiring down at the OD solenoid? Does the truck start in Drive?

Nope I didn't do any of the things You guys say, I guess I missed that on the sticky .
I will go ahead and and put a test light at the trans plug and drive it, does it matter which wire it is?
How do I test the pressure and where is the port? Is it the one with the temp sensor?
It does shift 1, 2 and 3rd but then it revs up as I drive faster (45mph).
I did not try to start it while in Drive, what will this do?

Thanks everyone.

Light would be between the two wires at the tranny. I think you can skip it, looks like OD is gone completely.

If it were electrical, it just wouldn't shift out of third, but otherwise drive normally. Third should do 70 at 2500 rpm on a flat road.

Is there any way to test the crank sensor, rock auto wants $90 for a sensor SOB

J_Martin You are right it does drive up to 65mph but that is the top speed with the tranny as it is for now.

What about the trans temp sensor ? if it comes unpluged or is getting a bad conection it won't go into O/D.

Before you buy a sensor, hot wire the OD solenoid and make sure the trans and solenoid are OK. You need to have 12 volts on the blue write with the key on, then ground the other wire in 3rd gear and see if it shifts into OD.
