92 speedo
My speedo on my 92 W350 5 spd has been intermittend. On my last trip the odometer is not working . My first thought would be to replace it with an earler mechanical cable type model. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Most likely two separate issues. If the speedo is still reading and the odo has stopped, then you have broken a couple of little gears in there, look in the sticky for info on fixing that issue.
An intermittent speedo is a sign of a VSS problem. Make sure the VSS and the ratio adapter it threads onto are both tight. Check the wires to the VSS. Make sure the ratio adapter drive recess is not rounded out.

odometer gears
Thanx to all that replied. Autopsy revieled missing theeth on 20 tooth gear the only parts link I had was $28 since I found for $15
