92 or 96 into 90???

MY friend has a 96 (5.9) to put in his 90 d350/ 5sp, does he have to have the 96 pcm ., to make it run??? He also has a 92 he just picked up, same question will he have to use the 92 pcm to make the 90 run???

No, I can't think of anything that would be needed that couldn't be wired up pretty much the way the 90 was. Except, the shutdown solenoid will need to be wired differently on the 96 engine, as it has 2 circuits to make it work. If he uses the 92 engine, the KSB solenoid works differently between the 2 engines. Both can be done without the PCM though.
