91 250 Auto Tranny questions

I just picked up a 91 250 w/ auto tranny

sometimes, mostly after i've been driving for a while, shifting from reverse to drive or vise versa gets kinda rough, jerky almost.. It doesn't always do it, and mostly not right when i start up.

Also, if i let up on the fuel right around 25 is shifts kinda hard into third...but only if i let up on the fuel, problem is our town speed limit is 25.

Any thoughts??

What to you mean by rough? Like a clunk going from reverse to drive, or a vibration? It sounds to me like slack in the driveline. Could be u-joints, or it could be the cross pin or clutches in the diff.

Check the TV cable adjustment for the shift troubles.

Sounds like your line pressure is cranked up pretty good. Might try adjusting your tv cable. Mine rattles the dash when I shift into third sometimes, I've just learned to time it right.
