so some jerk ripped to build data sticker off from underneath the hood of my new truck, and now im not so sure what axle i have. its an 89 D350 DRW, which should be a Dana 80, correct??? well, anyway, when looking at the axle, i saw it had a 70 stamped on the top left hand web of the pumpkin. did i get shafted with a D70 in my $500 D350 DRW?

 

No it came factory with a Dana 70 DRW not Dana 80. D80's were not til 94+ models. If it's an auto its actually a Dana 71 with 3.07 gears.

I don't know how you could think that you got shafted if you paid $500 for a 89 D350. Is it complete?

 

Complete? I'm borderline on accusing him a stealing it myself for $500, anyless and well it should be against the law.

BTW, jeepsuck, thats a nice looking 89, I saw it in the other post.

bgilbert pretty much nailed it, now all you need to do is determine if its open or a limited slip.
