727/518 trans mount/crossmember differences

I have an 89 d350 that I'll be swapping an a518 into in the next few days. I have everything sorted out EXCEPT for the trans mount/crossmember differences. Are the crossmembers in the IC and NON/IC trucks the same? Also, what is the difference in the trans mounts and can the 727 trans mount be made to bolt to the a518 without any major modifications? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I'd check out the pics of the tranny mounts on Rockauto. You should be able to see pretty easily if it is the same mount of not. As for cross member....Don't know for sure. But I have to agree with Val...might need to redrill a couple holes?

I have done this exact swap. Best thing you could ever do. The crossmembers are basically the same. The only difference is on the bottom where the trans mount goes. The holes in the bottom. Since you have the 727 you will probably have to drill a couple small holes in the bottom to bolt up the trans mount. And yes the trans mounts are completely different. Also the yoke on rear of trans is different. Would be nice if you had the donor driveline also, because driveline lengths are different. You do not have drill holes in your frame.

Go ahead and put a new trans mount in there. They are only 10-15 bucks. I can't remember, but I think the one you need is #2646, but check first before you buy. I will be back on here thurs if you have any questions
