727 4x2 to 4x4?
I have a 1990 D350 with a torqueflite 727. It is 2wd, but nearly new. I am swapping the drivetrain into a Ford 4x4 so I need to hook the 727 up to a 23 spline input NP203 T-Case from a 75ish dodge truck. I also scored the trans tailshaft adapter off of the junkyard truck's 727, but it obviously wasn't a cummins.
Will the tailshaft adapter work on my 1990 diesel 727? If so, is that the only difference between the 4x2 and 4x4 diesel 727? Is there anything else I need to do to make my trans work with the NP203?
BTW I am bolting the NP203 range box to my Ford's NP205 for a doubler using a Stazworks adapter. Anybody know of a cheaper way?

I recently swapped a 2wd th-350 into a 4x4 blazer. Got everything bolted in and ready to put the t-case up and...oops, 2wd and 4x4 output shafts are different lengths!! You migt want to look closely at that aspect of the swap first. Good luck!
shaft
u need the adapter and shaft from a 727 setup for the 203 make sure u get one from a later model trans because the splines on the shaft where the plantery goes on inside the trans are a little diffrent the plantery will go on the right or wrong shaft but if not on the right one will strip the splines in plantery if much power is applied the trans will need to be apart 1975 or later donor parts should be fine
