Ha...yeah, check your oil levels, check your air filter, check your fuel filter, check for hardy fuel leaks somewhere.

Aparently it is, unless you made a calculation error, or there is another problem with your truck.

Someone took a few gallons from my tank a couple weeks ago, while I was parked at work and out of town....friggin thieves!!

But 7.6 seems like you might have some other issues going on.

I would be looking for a fuel leak also.Check the oil like ChrisLib and Subliminal suggested that can happen and ruin a good motor quickly.

Did you reset your trip meter part way through the tank? Just a thought...

I did..................I had the tranny rebuilt 5 miles ago and cannot verify if that my was my sole issue. Have not had time to take on the highway to see if it's improved. Although the guy that did the tranny was talking about reaching speeds of 75mph, which I know wasn't possible before!!!

Heres the thing, odometer dont work, so wrote down every trip i made this week, i know how far home to work is ect. We'll just say in the 7mpg range. I might need to check the oil, was ok the other day but ya never know. The engine has been terribly noisy and smokey (more than usual any way) for the last couple days. Just bought oil and filter yesterday just in case. Its kinda scary tho!!! Hope nobody robbed my fuel tank.

My 92 gets around 10 or less in the city (12 if I'm lucky.) I was going to

post a the same question. I get terrible fuel economy. I think my ERA 300 injectors may have something to do with it!

Your H1C should have the worst exhaust housing of the lot, that can't be helping, but wouldn't justify a big sudden mpg drop.

Park it on some cardboard one night and see what it looks like in the am. I wouldn't be able to notice a fuel spill on my greasy dirty block.

What all did he do to the tranny so you can hit 75MPH now? You sure he didn't screw around elsewhere?
