I don't have the 62, I have the II SPS 66. I like it but I use it mainly for pulling. I can't spool the turbo till about 1,500 rpms but it is better than the stock turbo. I think the 62 would spool real well.

I think the 77 turbine is a better match for the VE.

Mine starts around the 1300rpm range and by 1500rpm ive got 10psi and its ready to rock. Keep it you will like it, ive ran mine with stock injectors to 6x.018's and love it! Pluss it will support some nice numbers!

it will work great. Its alittle smokey on the bottom end but and with a hot pump is still a tad bit hot at WOT but i feel its the best compromise between a big charger and a fast spooling smaller one. It just take alittle getting used to. Once they build 10psi hold on cuz they are gone after that.

OK, so comparing how that spools to a 62/80 is apples to oranges - or did I misread your first post and you are recommending he send back the 62/80 as well?

My turbo was the same way when I got it. I thought it was going to be a II SPS 66/71/14 but then the tag on the turbo said 66/80. I have no idea what is up with it though.

Ok guys, 62 is the mm of the compressor wheel inducer and 80 is the AR of the exhaust housing. Which comes out to be 14cm. All super phat shafts run a 71mm exhaust wheel and all the silver bullets run a 73-74mm 10-11 blade exhaust wheel. To my knowledge no one makes a S300 with a turbine wheel larger then 74mm. In other words I run a 62/80 too.
