57mm super S300 vs the upgrade for h1c
I had the Super B (57/65/14) then went to the Super B Special (64/71/14). The Super B is an AWSOME quick spooling turbo it will support about 400rwhp and stay nice and cool under a hard load. (1400egt max with my old set-up) Once I upgraded sticks, pump, and cam I went to the 64mm turbo. This thing spools almost as fast but keep in mind I have WAY more fuel then I used too. If I was going to make a choice it would be the 57mm for 350-400rwhp and the 62mm for around 450-500rwhp. I am looking for lots more so I'm going bigger again!!

So...you really liked the Super B??? Thats what I want to put on... Does Bd work with you when you upgrade to the special... will the super B support anything more than 400??
Hear is a quicky. The 57 mm model http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBa8Y27Q1-w
I'm not really for sure what my injectors are but they are 370's or bigger(I counted 6 holes, before installation).
So you guy's think that the 62mm won't be much harder to spool than the 57mm, if so do you guy's think it would be worth the extra 400 dollars if i don't ever plan on going over 400 hp.
Just for giggles what is the average horse power of a truck with basic pump mods and 370's and whatever else is in my sig.

Richie O... Your truck hauls for what it is. You're so lucky you have the LSD (l/s rear, not the psychadelic pill!)
Our 91 non i/c peeled the tire lose for 25 feet before it started to hook and still ran a 15.5 in the 1/4
Non intercooled trucks FTW

I know! I had a open rear till it blew up. I found this as a replacement. I could sizzle the tire. I hated that. Now I can hit the throttle hard pulling out into traffic and it hooks up and goes. When it was raining I could spin 3rd gear on the govenor. Single track blows.
If you dont plan on running more then 400rwhp ever and I do mean at all haha then ya the Super B will be the perfect choice. I pulled 10-12k pounds with my pods, fuel pin, ported head, and the 57mm all the time and it would cool like a son of a gun. The turbo made about 6psi at 60mph empty and around 16-18psi with a heavy load. It spooled to 45psi lightening fast and never ever surged. It is a good choice. Those 400rwhp will be a little hot (1400) but I wish for those temps now. With my current setup I can hit well over 1500deg but I guess thats why I got the spray, lol, to keep things cooled off.
As far as upgrading I didnt bother trying to upgrade my 57mm to a 64mm. I am a BD Dealer so I had a customer that was more then happy to take my 57mm for a discounted price. I did ask and the turbo division at BD could have done the upgrade but it wasnt economical enough. It was better for me just to sell the old one and buy the new. I would recomend most others do the same.
Now if you plan on going to 400+rwhp you better plan on a bigger turbo. Really the most streetable tow friendly single for us up to about 500rwhp is the 62/71/14. This turbo still spools real hard and cools very well but your gonna need some good injectors. If you plan on a bigger turbo then the 62mm then I would recomend upgrading your cam and porting your head. If you dont you may find it some what hard to spool a 64mm+ turbo the street.
Just my .02 cents
