53 block

what is a 53 block im in the market for a newer CTD ..... and no im not selling the 90...

Its a casting number on some bad or thin blocks-I know they had them in th 99-24 valve and not sure of any other years. maybe somebody else knows more on these!

they came in 12v trucks as early as 97 I believe.

look for the number "53" to be cast into the block on the driver's side down under the pump. I BELIEVE 53 blocks got dual oil drain holes also... I was bummed to find that my truck didn't, but then I learned about the 53 blocks, and like I said, I think they've got the dual return holes.

You cant miss the 53, its as big as house numbers! (on a small house-about 2" tall)

I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker on a nice truck...

lots of high power trucks out there w/ 53 blocks. and it's repairable if it happens.
