518 towing, how heavy
We have a 20 ft flat bed with a pin inplace of the gooseneck at work, i have no idea why they think its better, it is kinda nice to just pull the pin up out of the bed of the truck though and when your done pullin just put your foot on it and push it down.

Goose neck is a large ball IN the bed. Hard to line up, but better on bigger terrain.
Fifth wheel has a plate (called the fifth wheel) in the bed that looks similar to a Rigs trailer set up. Not as good on heavy pitching, or twisting, but way easier to line up.
They both look the same driving by. They rise up and drop into the bed of the truck. You have to look in the bed to actually see what it is. Most trailers can easily be converted from one to the other.
