50 gallon Saddle tanks- I want it too!

I saw this truck for sale on Maui, tried contacting the owner, but no luck, I really want to know what is entailed in putting on 50 gallon saddle tanks like this- I really really want to do this mod more than any other on my truck, but I am not sure how to go about it regarding the lines to and from the pump, with that apparatus that goes in the stock tank and all that. FYI_ If I had the money right now, I would buy it in a heart beat! You can see how he fuels it up at least.

Cool looking flatbed, with a wrecker boom [?] and winch set up.

Wouldn't be that hard... most saddles come with a flat bracket and then you either weld and or bolt them into the frame. Most trucks I know are bolted.. find a wrecker and make it work? hehe.

Not too hard. For dual tanks you will need a selector valve with return ports. And make sure you prime the lines.

Most big trucks with dual tanks have a crossover line between the bottom sumps and just feed and return to one tank. You'll need an aftermarket gauge and sender or get the gauge from the truck the tanks came off of.

You may need at 8' wide deck... otherwise these bigger-truck tanks are likely to stick out some.

It's same size as my deck I have on it now, mostly I am worried about the fuel delivery system thingy that is inside the stock tank, and if it is needed at all.

You will need no "fuel system delivery thingy" just a tank with a draw straw to the bottom of it. Maybe a fuel level float if you want to be able to see how much fuel you have in the tank.
I have driven home, towing my loaded trailer, almost 200 miles running off a 5 gallon jerry can with a fuel line stuffed into it before. I got about 30 miles to a 5 gallon tank, before I had to swap jerry cans.

Thanks so much for this. When I get to your side of the world next I am going to have to come look at your cast off yard LOL. And give you what we call a "high chaka" .

I may buy this truck, talking with him today. Clearly has injector pump going bad though, typical Hawaii problem it seems.
