would a divorced tcase from an older truck handle the power of a cummins??? we have a divorced tcase but i don't know if it would hold up with all the torque..
basically i'm just going to have to lift it and worry about the drive shafts later.

Did someone say big tires no lift?

Sorry, that dang ****** is always getting in the way these days.

The bodies on these trucks are not getting any better. It is a big commitment to stretch and/or trim the fenders, but I think its the best way to go if you have to have bigger tires.

My truck is running basically a 39" tire with just about 1.5" of leveling spring in front. I've been running it like this for a few years now. It works fantastic.

"old tcase"

First of all-

The divorced np205 T case that came stock in every 1972-1973 W100-W500 is identical to the NP205 we have in our trucks save for he input/outputs. They have 32 spline shafts all the way around as opposed to the 23 spline input found on W250/350 autos behind our 1989-1993 trucks.

And as you can see you can upgrade the yokes to 1410 all around.

When you are in 1:1 2wd the "torque" is simply passing through the unit as a coupler/carrier bearing.

The unit isn't the problem in high torque pulling in 4 Low, it is your mounting and frame etc. The np205 is bombproof.

Here's my truck with 2.5" lift and 3" body lift and little front fender trimming. Those are 39" tires on stock rims.

Might be 16.5's... I think they came in 8.25" and 9.75" widths

Those are 16" stock wheels. They are custom widened 4" outwards. So they are 10" wide!

33's should fit easy stock. I have 35's on stock sagged springs... they just tickle the corners of the fenders.

I think 35's would rub on mine right now but these alcans move alot more than the stock springs did.
