4" or 6" lift

I'm thinking about lifting my truck once i get money together for Jungles parts (rear shackle flip and front suspension stuff)

On the rear Jungle said its about a 4.75 lift with rear block on an RC is it the same for my 92?? If I wanted to lift it 4.75" I could get the front 4.75" drop, do the shackle flip with a 6" rear spring with the shackle flip with rear 6" block removed and keep it level???

Or should I go for a 6" lift with with shackle flip 8" rear spring, 2" front drop hanger and 4" front spring??? Or is my measurements way off???

Also what needs to be done to the drive shafts for a 4" lift or a 6" lift??

Thanks..

Forget the shackle flips. They ruin your axle angles and because of it your truck will be horrible to drive. Buy Skyjackers 4 or 6" lift leaf springs. They sell 8" lift as well...

I disagree, angled shims will restore axle angles. Lift springs usually have them anyways.

What i have found with lifts is after you install the one you think you wanted, you want higher so i recommend going to the 6'' but that's just my opinion. It really depends on what you plan to do with the truck, towing?

Get STEEL shims that BOLT into the pack (up to 6 degrees) or you can always cut the rear perches and rotate the punkin wherever you have parallel angles to the t case output.

There's alot of people doing rear shackle flips, Haven't heard to many negatives, I think I'd do what PapeCat said and i'd just cut the perches and reweld them,

On a 6" lift I know the drive shafts will probably need to be leghtend, what else needs to be done to the drive shafts, Thats my biggest worries on running a lift,

Best thing to do is to get the suspension set up how you want it and set the angles parallel. If they are too steep/tall you may need to point the pinion directly at the T Case output and get a CV style driveshaft made up. Call Jess and HAD (High Angle Driveline) he can hook you up. You're looking $$ though

I am pretty sure i could squeeze a 33'' with 2'' lift so 35's should be easy.

Some trimming????? how much did you have to trim? So with a 4" lift i wouldn't need to lenghten my front d shaft??? If thats the case I'll Just do the shackle flip and front spring hangers

On mine using 4" skyjacker front leafs made the front driveshaft extend 1 1/8 with a 5spd

Yes, I trimmed a bit of the fender corners front and rear. But the tires didn't rub any chassis parts at full bump lock to lock.

It would be ideal to do Meiser's big tire with no lift Fender Extensions...

One thing you'll notice is that the front output flange is actually a SPACER that pushes the CV forward to clear the Xmember.

The optimum setup would be to use a 2wd trans (might as well go with a spicer or road ranger) and divorced np205 to get a centered xfer case with longer front driveshaft.

But I was thinking what might help is eliminating the spacer on the front output by replacing it with an aftermarket style flange and then clearance & then reinforce the crossmember. The increased overall length would make a good difference with a lift.

Look at how long this front Dshaft is with the divorced np205
