it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a reseal kit. DGK-121 for about $16 at a fuel injection shop. if the top's coming off, you might as well replace the throttle shaft seal, fuel screw seal and, if you wanna tear into it, the AFC guide pin seal along with the seal behind the bushing that the guide pin's o-ring resides in. just take your time disassembling everything, keep all the parts clean and be sure index the throttle shaft just as it was prior to removal. i'd suggest using the ball-end alan keys so that you don't have to remove your idle screw.

First of all, WOW. that being said, i need some new needle nose. i thought i had the spring in the top hat hole but when i let go everything exploded! luckily i found all the parts it got to late to play with the throttle shaft but i messed something up. its idling a little high now and when i let of the throttle it sounds like it keeps fueling for a second then completely cuts out for a split second and then is back to high idle i will have to play with it a little more in the morning. as for the pump sealing, will any type of o-ring that fits work or will the fuel deteriorate some. and can the seal kit be purchased from a regular parts store? no injection shops in this little town.

Sounds like it's indexed one spline too loose.

As long as you get the o-rings from an auto parts or hydraulic shop they should be OK. Hardware store/Harbor Freight ones may not hold up.

I know I can reindex mine blindfolded now. It may take a few try's to get it right.

the 366 spring is known to bump the idle a little bit but that wouldn't explain it cutting out for a second. indexing could be a little off like dave said. mine would idle about 750 with the stock spring and when i installed the 366 it went up to about 900. not too high and comfortable enough for me but i might bring it down to 850.
